This Is Frankly Speaking.

America was built on family business.

My first job was cooking steaks at my Grandpa’s place. Pelle’s Cafe in Silver Grove, Kentucky. Even then, at 14, I was struck by the big smiles and belly laughs that soulful businesses give their community. Their stories deserve to be told, and I’ve made it my business to help them do so.

I’ve spent the last decade working for a handful of incredible creative agencies. I loved almost everything about it. One of the downsides of the agency model is its inability to give Mom & Pops the tools they need to grow their businesses.

No agency would ever partner with a place like my Grandpa’s because the dollars simply wouldn’t make sense. I understand it from a business perspective, but that has never sat right with me.

When something doesn’t sit right with you, your options are to get bitter or do something about it. Starting today, I’ve decided on the latter. My company, Frankly, is officially open for business.

Why Frankly?

Well, I want to help small businesses grow. That can only happen by speaking frankly to everyone who would care. That’s half of where the name Frankly comes from.

The other half is an homage to my Great-Grandpa, Frank Pelle. A lifelong mechanic and owner of the neighborhood corner bar. He was known on more than one occasion to anonymously fix car troubles for his neighbors who didn’t have the means to take their vehicles to an auto shop.

Just like he helped his people get from A to B, I’m helping mine do the same, only with a very different tool belt. I can’t fix your Volkswagen, but I can give your business everything it needs to thrive in the modern age.

If you or someone you know has a small business, it would be an honor to serve you. Shoot me an email at startspeakingfrankly@gmail.com, and we can throw some time on the calendar to meet and see what a fruitful partnership could look like.

Thanks in advance for being a friend of Frankly!

-Cody Pelle
